Hi There, Is It Spring Where You Are?

Helloooooooo from Las Vegas. Times are changing, much like the seasons. My family and I are all moved into the new house (I’m a liar) and all of the boxes are unpacked (my nose is hitting the monitor as we speak) and we’re all just sitting pretty enjoying the lovely decor (ok, I’m going to hell for lyin). Anyway, as you can gather from my big fat lies, I’m still getting life together, but much more happily!

For one…………….baby is NORMAL! Yay! I would have loved him (verified - XY…most definately a boy!) anyway he came to me but as far as they can see, he’s perfect. Now if I could just convince him my bladder is not a papasan chair and that my ribcage is not a wall for him to practice pelvic thrusts and soccer moves on…then we’d be in business buddy.

Two, I’m feeling much less stressed out at work. Things are in a groove and I’m still loving my job, which is such a blessing. How many people can say that?

As far as the story goes…you know the one…63days… I keep dreaming that it comes out and everyone who reads the ending thinks its written by Stephen King, although, there are no killer clowns in it, no big ax wielding hoteliers and no cell phone zombies to speak of. Maybe I’m just scared its going to be anticlimactic.  Maybe I should throw in a winning lottery ticket and a weird series of numbers…oh oh oh! and an underground hatch that has food stored and then there can be “Others” around and then one day these people from the other side of Lake Powell could show up and they think that WE are “others” so they try to kill us and then there can be an attempt to make a raft and escape but somebody steals a small black boy and then…oh wait…that’s “Lost”…never mind.  I’ll just stick to the truth. I mean…I’m still alive now, obviously, so it won’t end dramatically with me telling my story on my death bed… Dangit, I’ll just post it.
K, if you’re still around, I’m still around. Don’t be surprised if I just vomit out the rest of this dang story all over your arses pretty quick.

Oh! Wait! Tell me what you think of HBO’s “Big Love”… I’m curious at your insight and opinions…

Glad to hear the boy is normal. Congrats again. As for the story, don’t worry. We all kinda of figured the ending would be slightly less exciting then the rest of the story; unless you wish to embellish it by telling us how you found a lazer gun sent to you from the future and used to extract vengance on those who had wronged you.

Anyways, I look forward to your next installment.

Yay on everything being fine with your baby boy!!

And don’t worry about the ending of your story. The whole thing so far has been harrowing enough. I’d be satisfied no matter how it turned out, simply because it ended for you and now you’re in a happy place in your life.

Why would anyone want to see you suffer even more at the end than what you’ve described so far?

    Welcome back.

Moving can be a hectic time. Without all the other distractions you have.

Forced writing is always obvious. When you’re ready to write, it’ll happen on it’s own.

Congrats on the good baby news!

    I am a LOST fanatic…

I can’t wait to read the rest of your story-no matter how anticlimactic it may be. I am sure it wil be just as interesting as the rest of the story.

As far as your other comment on the show “Big Love”…sigh. It must be nice to have cable. Where I live, we didn’t have that option so we live with “bunny ear TV” which means it is totally not worth trying to tune in anything but LOST (I will work for that show…lol).

Congrats on all your good news…

of course would love to hear the end of the story.

re: BigLove - I’ve been obsessed with mormon/Utah culture for sometime, and have read some books about it from ‘leavers’ of the faith. This show is so amazing to me - the obvious first thought is, “One wife is usually a LOT for a man to handle, let alone 3! who snark on each other a bit, and have issues getting along, and all the while all of them are trying to hide their lifestyle from their community…. The other question is, knowing how much I love my man, I’d never be okay sharing him physically or emotionally with another woman, let alone 2 others!!! I find it fascisnating and wierd… and omg! how much do they make you hate that Nikki character…

Everyone! Thanks for being here, you all feel like family, its so awesome to see ya’ll stuck around.

    Brooks, I’m calling you today.

JennieB - Oh you have no idea. I am actually still a practicing mormon, but as you all know, there’s no polygamy tolerated in the church, hasn’t been since before the turn of the century (1900, not 2000) But I’m obsessed with the show. Its crazy to me and yes…I wanna kill that Nikki in her pioneer dresses…she’s such a jerk! I watch that show like I’d watch a train wreck…call me creepy or whatever but man, thats some good tv.

Hi I just started reading this story 3 days ago and that is how long it took me to get to this point, i hope you will finish it when you feel you are ready, I feel like I have ben there with you, I found you by looking up info on teen bootcamps someone posted a commemt on a web site I found saying if you are thinking of sending your kid to one of these camps to go here, I am shocked and horrified at what goes on. Needless to say my son will not be going to one. I think we can find other ways to comunicate, I hope all goes well for you and your family.

Throw the story at me fast! Go for it! Hit us hard!! I can’t wait to read the rest. I don’t think we’re reading it for the adventure and intrigue. It is a human story. Something we can all empathize with on one level or another. Just my thoughts.

I was only able to see two episodes of Big Love. Had we kept HBO, I would probably be just like you, unable to stop watching. Despite the whole polygamy thing, it really is just a good tv show with good storylines and such. I was interested to find out what would happen with the first wife since she “misses LDS”. And the daughter that doesn’t approve of polygamy. I was surprised they only had 7 daughters.

I think the saddest part of this is that people are watching it just because it is about polygamy and they are thinking they are learning something about Mormons. They aren’t watching to see the storylines and human interaction. If it had been a Catholic family, I really think there would be fewer viewers.

  19. annierae Says:

    Visit annierae

And the problem with thinking they’re learning about Mormons is they’re NOT. Mormonism dropped polygamy (like Ali said) back around the 1900’s :) That’s what makes it fascinating, you think you’re learning about some ‘big’ religion when in fact it’s a bunch of fanaticals.

Congratulations on you healthy, baby boy! What woderful news and how exciting!!! YAY!

I am hoping you tell the rest of your story. I have been dying to read it because I relate to so much of it in my own way. So much of it. It doesn’t matter if you think it’s anti-climactic because it isn’t. You are happy, healthy, alive, and wonderful. You made it through. It’s got the (well, I don’t know because I haven’t read it) Happy Ending everyone wants to hear.

Then again, write for you. Write what you want. For me, I know I can say with all honesty that it will be beautiful no matter what.

    Peace & Love,
    Victoria

I’m sure it won’t be an anti-climax - like you say, you survived: that has to be THE best ending we could hope for.

Good news about your son in the womb being healthy!

Big Love - I have not seen a single episode since I don’t have cable either. I could not believe that someone else doesn’t have it! I thought I was the last the hold out. *grin*

But the whole idea of a poly marriage is not new to me. I am very interested in the idea and the philosophy.

If you ever want to discus this subject in detail just drop me an email.

Big Love is a great show! I’m totally hooked. First off, anyone who watches that show and thinks they are learning about Mormons is far off, yes there are Mormon references but they’ve stated numerous times that they don’t practice any organized religion!! I think the story line is developing nicely, we’re at the point where we’re learning background on the situations that have brought them to where they are. Am I the only one who thinks Bill Paxton is HOT? He’s got quite a body for a 52 year old!!!!
Check out the Big Love Community on hbo.com. Margene has a blog, there are interviews with the cast and of course, message boards. I think the boards are pretty interesting, there are all types posting, polygamists, mormons, non-mormons, etc.

Hi Alli, I’m still lurking around, glad to hear the boy is alright! On Big Love, we watch it, adn the show totally differentiates between polygamists and mormons, so I don’t think people watching it (if they are paying attention at least) would mistakenly think that all mormons are polygamists and live in compounds. I love the show, I love to hate Nikki! I think I like Margine the most.

I am totally addicted to Big Love. My guy and I watch it together after the Sopranos. He finds one of me a handful and can’t imagine having 2 more emotional women to attend to:)
